Londonderry Soccer Club Code of Conduct Agreement

Londonderry Soccer Club Parent Code of Conduct Agreement

As an organization committed to the coaching and enjoyment of youth soccer, Londonderry Soccer Club (LSC) seeks to promote the highest standards of courtesy, sportsmanship and positive behavior among its parents, families, players & coaches at all times (for the purposes of this Agreement, the term “Participants” shall include, but is not limited to Players, Mother, Father, Step-Parents, Siblings, Grandparents, and family friends.)

LSC will not tolerate behavior which brings the club, team, or game into disrepute. LSC believes that the attitude shown by participants toward coaches, referees, fellow parents, & the opposing players are of paramount importance. Participants must always remember that they are role models & representatives of our Club. All concerns related to this Code of Conduct Agreement or any aspect related to LSC activities should be brought to the attention of the LSC Club Board.

Responsibility to Parent/Guardian/Child

  • I will ensure my child treats other players, coaches, game officials, administrators, and fans with respect.
  • I will be supportive of my child, regardless of the scoreboard or win/loss record. I will promote teamwork, positive attitude, forgiveness of mistakes and self-discipline with my child. You are raising a child, not a soccer player, and all the life skills your child learns in this or any other organized activity will help them become better people.
  • I will handle disappointment if it occurs through disputes, my child’s skill, officials and their decisions, placement on a team, etc. with dignity, maturity and common sense. All concerns related to this expectation should be brought to the attention of the LSC Club Board.

Responsibility to Coach

  • I will let the coach(es) perform his/her job & refrain from sideline coaching. There can be only one coach on the team and that person has been selected by the Club.

  • I will not publicly criticize coaches’ decisions, come onto the field for any reason during the game, or approach my child’s coach before, during, or after games and/or practices with negative comments, disapproval with decisions made, or your expert advice. Emailing the coach with questions or to request a brief meeting is acceptable.

Responsibility to Team

  • I will place the emotional and physical well-being of all players ahead of any personal desire to win.

  • All parents are expected to check email routinely, respond timely and accordingly, and ensure the Club is provided with reliable email addresses.

  • Team administrators will send out emails and will not be expected to contact families via phone unless in the case of an emergency. Email & our club website will be the primary way of communication.

  • If a dispute between myself and team officials or administration occurs, I will handle it with dignity and through proper channels (notification to the Club Board).

Responsibility to Match (Game)

  • I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, game officials, and administrators at all times.

  • I will remember that the game is for the players, not for the adults.

  • I will not get into arguments with the opposing team’s parents, players, or coaches.

  • I will not criticize game officials.

Responsibility to Londonderry Soccer Club

  • I will support the coaches, officials, and administrators working with my child, to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.

  • Alcohol, illegal drugs and unauthorized prescription drugs shall not be possessed, consumed or distributed before, during or after any game or at any other time at the field and/or game complex.

  • I will refrain from any activity or conduct that may be detrimental or reflect adversely upon Londonderry Soccer Club.

Second offense: Dismissal of Parent and/or Child from game or practice; meeting with Club Board.
