We hope this email finds you well and adapting to the recent 'new normal' in our daily lives. We wanted to take a minute to update you all on the current status of the Spring soccer season, which is being closely monitored by NHSA. They are working diligently to make the best informed decisions possible as it relates to all soccer activities throughout the state.
At a special Executive Board meeting on Monday March 23, NHSA decided to further suspend all affiliated and sanctioned soccer activities statewide through April 26, 2020 due to the evolving COVID-19 situation. For the member organizations (towns, clubs and leagues) this includes, but is not limited to: all games, practices, clinics, training, tournaments, and in-person meetings. NHSA also emphasized that it is imperative we all follow recommendations and mandates from the CDC, local and federal officials, USYS and US Soccer to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus.
For LSC, this means a one-week delay to the start of the Travel season and, at this time, the Rec season will begin as originally planned. Rec and Travel practices will both begin the week of April 27th with games beginning on May 2nd. If you have not yet registered for LSC Rec Express, we encourage you to do so - you will find registration up and running on our website ( www.londonderrysoccer.org ). Be sure to register by April 15th to ensure your player's spot on a team.
We are encouraged by NHSA's commitment to ensure the utmost safety for our players, parents, coaches and families while still being optimistic the Spring season will go on. We appreciate everyone's flexibility adapting to the minor schedule adjustments and are looking forward to an amazing outdoor season!
